Ever wanted to activate a story that you feel so connected to? ‘Writing the personal’ is a two hour course targeted at marginalised voices to dramatise, create and understand a story that has shaped us and feels so utterly personal to us.
With no writing experience needed, this program is tailored to assist voices in understanding how the stories that have made us or have served as touchstones in our lives can be brought to life through writing. In the two hours spent together, we will create the foundations of new narratives with no pressure to read aloud or share. This course is about getting stories out of you, and onto the page.
‘Writing the personal’ has previously been taught with the Monologue Project at KXT/bAKEHOUSE and for the Sydney Fringe Festival. The course is facilitated by Jordan Shea, a current Artistic Associate at KXT, and professional educator and writer.
