Jana Vass is a first-generation Australian Producer & Stage Manager, of Rusyn and Hungarian heritage. She is a graduate of Charles Sturt University (Bachelor of Communication – Theatre/Media).
Currently, Jana is the Creative Producer (Logistics) for kwento, working on various projects & productions as a Producer, including Ate Lovia by Jordan Shea and The Marriage Agency by Saman Shad, both premiering in 2022.
Jana has worked as a Production Manager, Stage Manager and Technical Operator across Sydney’s theatre companies and venues. Current credits include The Linden Solution (Ratcatch Theatre & bAKEHOUSE Theatre), ATYP On Demand (Australian Theatre for Young People), The Spoils (Flightpath Theatre), April Aardvark (Australian Theatre for Young People), Van De Maar Papers (Old 505 Theatre & Ratcatch Theatre), I (Love) You (Old 505 Theatre & ladylike theatre collective), Extinction of the Learned Response (Belvoir St Theatre, as part of the 25A season & Glitterbomb) and The Divorce Party (Old 505 Theatre & life after productions).
Her other credits include In Between (Sprung Festival of Creativity), Cosi (Cycle Productions), TOO (Sprung Festival of Creativity), Think Outside the Label (Cycle Productions), and The Bachelor Wants You! (Sprung Festival of Creativity).
Her event credits include UNFOLD and Scratch Night (Ignite Collective with New Ghosts Theatre Company) as the Production Assistant, Catapult Festival (Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre) as the Administration Assistant, Inland Sea of Sound (Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre) as the Assistant Stage Manager, and Fisher’s Gig (Campbelltown City Council) in various roles. She also served as the Youth Member for Campbelltown, as part of the YMCA Youth Parliament program from 2014 – 2015.
Jana is interested in collaborating with artists who challenge the cultural, political, and social norms, and to present these ideas through contemporary plays and new Australian writing. She is currently studying a Certificate IV in Business, in partnership with VERTO Australia.
